Just saw Dungeonesque at the local game store. OD&D/Moldvay packaging with 5e rules. Anyone have any opinions/experience? http://roguecomet.com/dungeonesque/
Love the packaging, but between having my original Holmes, Moldvay Basic, and S&W Whitebox I'm leery of shelling out more bucks for another B/X style set. Need to look up some reviews of this one one of these days.
My son is starting a D&D club at school. He's planning to run 1ed AD&D (which we run in kind of a Holmes w/more stuff style) and 3ed GURPS for SF. Thought might be good for him to have a 5e set in case some other kids were only familiar with that.... and I guess I was hoping for a stripped down version of 5e, because I do like the roll high on D20 mechanic, but almost everything else is meh.

ReplyDeleteIt's worked well for me as a way to run 5e at conventions without carrying around a back-breaking pile of hardbacks.
