Kimba.

Kimba. This is a show I watched in the late 70s but haven't seen since. As a kid I found it very haunting and poignant due to all the character deaths, unlike in most other TV cartoons. Last night I finally saw it again, watched the first two episodes, and it was just as I had remembered.

Hey everyone.

Hey everyone. I don't know if anyone in this group is playing 5E, or using the VTT Fantasy Grounds, but if you are, I did a conversion for FG of the old Tower of Zenopus, and thought I'd share it. this is a google drive link.

I've run this module countless times in 38 years, and started several campaigns with it. It's near and dear to my heart, and I certainly want a new generation of players to share my joy of the thing, so here ya go!

Here's the description for my game for Gary Con X
"Return to the Tower of Zenopus"
Forty years ago adventurers first braved the dungeon under the ruined tower of the wizard Zenopus. Fearsome monsters were overcome and fabulous treasure recovered, but the doom of Zenopus was never revealed. The stairway leading down to the dangerous passages was eventually bricked over by order of Lady Lemunda, current ruler of prosperous Portown. However, recently your party uncovered a previously unknown means of entry. What secrets remain to be discovered in the old dungeons? Meet at the Green Dragon Inn and adventure as Boinger, Zereth, Murray or another character from J. Eric Holmes' stories. This adventure from the Zenopus Archives celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Holmes Basic D&D set. #garyconx #brazenheadofzenopus

Today I was thinking, what sort of adventure counts as an HB sort of adventure?

Today I was thinking, what sort of adventure counts as an HB sort of adventure? Is it style, flavor, only uses things in the original 48 pages, or a mix of these things?

I found more some bad drawings from my old campaign as well as some house rules modifying how weapon damage works for fighters in Holmes.

Heads-up: this week I will be starting a new blog series, reading through the Tales of Peril and making posts for each chapter/section. You can think of it as a book club for a single book. I've already re-read the 1st chapter of the Maze of Peril and made notes. I'll start tomorrow with an introductory post that will serve as an index for the posts in the series.
