"I guess you've noticed something a little strange with Dad. It's okay, though. I'm still Dad" - Roy Neary, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. This is another classic currently back in theatres, for its 40th anniversary, with a short documentary preceding. I saw it yesterday. The first alien glimpsed, with long spindly limbs, still gave me a chill. The version shown is the 1998 directors cut.

"... And your dad is going to bale out on this family as soon as a no-hassle ticket out of here comes along." Stunning movie, but the ending is still deeply problematic.
