Saw it last night with my son at the theater also. Seen it many many times starting on VHS on the 80s. Every time I watch it I am inspired to draw or make something. It is like a visit to a museum or gallery for me.
I'm tremendously jealous of you having seen it on the big screen! I first saw it in 1990, and many times since, but always on small screens (though increasingly bigger, it must be said).
I do vacillate between this and Laputa as my favourite Ghibli anime, though. I love how many anime build a whole world background (and often an epilogue) into the title sequences.

ReplyDeleteLove it. Watched it last night with my 11 and 10 ya boy and girl. We are looking forward to Hal's Moving Castle in November. My son is Hal.
