  1. Dig it.

...though I did mis-read 'sacks' as 'socks' and wondered how many adventurers ever stored equipment there...

  2. Don't worry, Jon Wilson, I keep mis-reading "Looking for Singles?" on facebook as "shingles". ;)

    Awesome character sheet!

  3. I keep mis-reading Jonathan Perkel's warning on the Holmes Basic FB group as "Reminder: This is not a gentle gaming group" : )

  4. Any opinions on the use of "heir" vs "relative" in Background section? The original section in OD&D was called "Relatives", and Holmes uses this term (A character may be allowed to designate a "relative" who will inherit his wealth and possessions (after paying a 10% tax) on his death or disappearance)". But Heir is shorter and more explanatory.

  5. A home-spun character sheet from that era that circulated within the circles of gamers of the Bay Area (SF) and made it to the crowd I gamed with at the time had a slot for "Next of Kin", which is like "heir" but also means there's a blood connection. An heir doesn't have to be a blood relative...

  6. Jon Wilson I like that & am going to use it. I think it's more self-explanatory. "RIP, Bert the Dwarf, slain while battling Hogzilla. His next of kin will receive his notched battle-axe and all the bacon he can eat".
