Social media sites come and go, but the old D&D forums are still going strong. If you missed it before, I'm now one of the mods over at OD&D Discussion.     I strongly recommend using a good adblock program on those forums. They put up ads against it but I've seen evidence that they're not only serving whitelisted good ads.

    Yes, I use AdGuard with Chrome.

    Hi Wayne - Thank you for mentioning this problem. I looked at the guest-accessible posts on OD&D Discussion about this. Pretty concerning, since I use Firefox and that seemed to be the most susceptible to these "Update your Firefox using this spoofing page and download nasty malware" phenomena. How recently has this problem been happening? The last post I saw in the "Worrysome Attempts to Download Malware" thread was dated Sept 2017. Has the latest version of Firefox augmented with adblockers been protecting Proboards users without problems since then?

    Hi Zach - This Luddite has now submitted registration at your OD&D Discussion. Thank you for taking on mod duties there. I appreciate very much your pledge over in the comments to J. Perkel's post to keep Holmes Basic going as normal for the next 9.75 months. You reminded me of Canadian apocalyptic black comedy Last Night (1998) - a gas utility paladin calmly calls a list of customers as they party, collect cars, riot, to assure them that their gas service will continue reliably until the end of the world. Until the sky goes out, I thank you!

    Apparently I am still banned from that site because of an aborted registration attempt a few months back. Tried to get it fixed but it stalled out about half way. Any help would be appreciated.
