Applied for membership on the fb. Not like I'm gonna miss giggle+, I never really had a use, nor the hang of it, since I'm not online everyday anyway. It'll clear up the clutter in my email inbox at least, and I'll just get a lot more fb notifications.
Robert Weber FWIW, I don't get any notifications from fb. I'm not sure if I set something up correctly, or if that's just how it is... But it's possible, if you don't like the white noise of notifications.
Jon Wilson, there is a way to set up fb notifications, and its in the settings. I've never figured out a better way to collect links of recent posts into one place than topic reply notifications to my email. This works for 90% of the stuff I like to keep abreast of, like Dragonsfoot, The Piazza, Knights & Knaves, facebook, Holmes Basic here at google+, etc., but forums are still my favored media because its easier to find older posts.
Unfortunately, facebook is horrible about finding older posts that may contain the nuggets of genius that are buried there, and its as if every post hovers over a bottomless pit until read, then it drops straight down, never to be seen again.
Great forums like ODD proboards have never ever sent one single topic notification, so I rarely go there because I've never saved the link by itself, and my internet time per day is regulated by how many topic reply notifications are in my inbox - which I always check first. ;)

And at the end, there was only FB (and things owned by FB).
ReplyDeleteIt seems like we have 10 months left? If so, I'll just keep posting here like normal here for at least 9.75 months.

Agreed.
ReplyDeletethis sucks. Some of the D&D groups on fb are spammy and political. I like the groups here on Google+
