Love this idea, hope you run it at GaryCon! (hoping to make it again next year after missing it since 2015)
EDIT: Any plans for the new adventure to feature a wereshark terrorising the docks of Portown? : ) Would be a killer surprise if it turned out to be Lemunda herself (somewhat a conflation of Sephora and Malachie du Marias in the Averoigne section of X2), perhaps infected by one of her pirate abductors (not in the dungeon at the time of the original adventure) when she was kidnapped; added twist, her lycanthropic "parent" is now a well known pirate captain who puts into port occasionally - possibly with the added twist that all those years ago he lured Lemunda into the kidnapping as a love interest, and the two have had an unresolved romantic issue for 40 years that has been even more complicated by her ruling Portown.
Other possible added twist (with or without any of the preceding) - Lemunda knows she bears the curse of lycanthropy, but decades of secretly seeking out a cure among sages far and wide yielded nothing and now she hires the PCs to destroy the werewolf terrorizing her town, where she is loved by her subjects for her benevolent rule.. no longer able to bear the guilt of her terrible secret, she hires the PCs (unbeknownst to them) to set her free of her terrible curse (something of a twist on the possessed abbot Theophile of Perigon in the CAS story "The Beast of Averoigne").
I am running a 'Return to the Tower of Zenopus' at NTRPGCon 2018 as well. I just posted a refreshed 'original' map on this hangout. Of course, after 40 years, there will be some changes... Ducks, Phantasms, Death Rays... and more...
