Three great things in this podcast episode:
1. We learn Laura Hickman was the first of the pair to play D&D.
2. We lean Tracy Hickman's first D&D was the Holmes box set.
3. Tracy and Laura Hickman talk about developing the I6 Ravenloft module and more.
The Hickman's interview starts about halfway in.

Thanks for the pointer. We did know about #1 & #2, as Tracy talked about this before --- https://plus.google.com/u/0/103373466658249785171/posts/S2dzM6HjaHZ
ReplyDeleteSome old discussion of whether Rahasia etc were written for OD&D (I now think this unlikely). There's a quote from Hickman that the Black Opal Eye section ""straight out of the first level of my first campaign game design", so this portion would be the most likely to be influenced by Holmes. Anything mention of this in the podcast, Michael?
ReplyDeleteWhich episode number is this?
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't appear to be the most recent one, and I can't spot a Hickman interview scrolling down the list...
Jon Wilson Episode 68.
ReplyDeleteZach H they spoke about their original plans for five modules when they were self-publishing, but no mention of the ruleset they wrote for.
ReplyDeletePerhaps reach out to them?
