Just a thought I had, with the fairly recent passing of DAT, is everyone who worked on Holmes Basic now sadly passed away? David Sutherland, DAT, Dr. Holmes, Gary Gygax....is there anyone else I missed? either writing or art?
Tom Wham is still alive, he contributed three works of art to the book. The wizard/gnoll ambush is the most obvious, but he also stated that he drew the sword in the Treasure section and Skull Mountain.
If we go further to the modules written for Holmes, there are are more - Mike Carr (author) for B1, Mentzer (editing), Otus (art), Diesel (art) for B2.

ReplyDeleteAnd Chris Holmes should be mentioned! He drew art for the manuscript that wasn't used.

ReplyDeleteNice, does that unused manuscript art still exist? Would be neat to see scans!
ReplyDeleteInteresting.

ReplyDeleteIt is a sobering thought, but it has been 40 years. Time flies, and never returns.
