I was planning on running the Zenopus dungeon at #tridentcon but since the theme is Tropical Terrors I thought I could do better. So I decided to adapt an obscure #judgesguild module called Corsairs of Tallibar. I wrote about it once: http://zenopusarchives.blogspot.com/2013/09/talk-like-corsair.html?m=1

I'm super pleased with your choice! And I note that your session is full!
ReplyDeleteErik Jensen I'm only seeing 4 registered - but that's a fine number!
ReplyDeleteI am blind, but will strive to fill it.

ReplyDeleteVery cool! I have this module, but its been ages since I broke it out - looks like I'll have to give it another read : )
ReplyDeleteIt just occurred to me that "Corsairs of Tallibar" must have been named to echo Tolkien's "Corsairs of Umbar".

Andy C It's really a forgotten module. There's very little discussion about it on the 'net.
ReplyDeleteOne of my very first JG mod's. I still have about a half-dozen but sadly that gem is not among them.
ReplyDeleteI always thought it would work well as a follow-up adventure to the original Portown sample dungeon...
ReplyDeleteIt would! PCs could find a map to the island on the pirates in Room M. It's obviously meant for a low level party as there are many very low value treasures.
ReplyDeleteYes - in fact, I've considered the idea of a Portown "trilogy" on a previous thread somewhere, starting with the Tower of Zenopus, then "Isle of the Abbey", and finally "Corsairs". I even converted "Isle" to Holmes. I have the pdf lying around here somewhere...
