Larry Elmore's original idea for the cover art of Mentzer Basic has more elements in common with Sutherland's for Holmes Basic. Elmore is now offering a limited edition print of this art.

  1. I like this, and wish they'd went with this cover instead. Elmore loves to put feathers in the women's hair! It occurs to me that perhaps she is a Swanmay in Larry's campaign. ;)

  3. Thank you for sharing. Gosh, this really does seem more reflective of the actual game behind the cover, doesn't it?

  4. Love how the dragon is locked in against the magic user and could care less about the fighter.

  5. Eric Potter it's because the dragon is actually shown speaking; in this case, "Oh my god, girl-friend, where do you get your feathers? Those are just to die for!"
