Fun story.
While at Gary Con IX, I asked Tom Wham to sign the Holmes Blue Box rulebook I picked up a couple years ago. (I gave my original to the younger of my two younger brothers when I left for college.)
Tom said, "I didn't do anything in that."
I said, "Sure you did, take a look."
Tom flipped through it and saw one of his pictures and said, "Gee that looks familiar, I guess I did."
Heh, Tom is a character. I remember, after GC2, i went back to Ernie's house on that Sunday evening and ended up tending the grill with Tom. We made some fine brats, if I do say so myself. He is a delightful fella. He signed the beholder and blink dog in my Monster Manual. :-)
ReplyDeleteWho can forget the gnolls ambushing the "keep on truckin" wizard ...
ReplyDeleteCool story. Maybe a little off topic but do you know why he always chooses to wear the sort of train overalls? Did he work with trains in his life?
ReplyDeleteScott Mob I'm not sure, but I know he plays at least one game involving trains/railroads. I don't recall its name.
ReplyDeleteI also had Tom sign the Bluebook on Sunday. I think you prepared him, because at that point he knew his work was in there.
ReplyDeleteZach H Awesome! I wish we could have met. Maybe next year. I plan to be at Gamehole Con in November.
