Family game night tonight with my weekly AD&D session on pause until next week.

Family game night tonight with my weekly AD&D session on pause until next week. So, it's time to break out the family favored edition. (Honest, they have played a bunch! Haha)

Any clever puzzles or maps you have seen recently and want to share? For some reason I'm running a bit blank today.

  1. Yes! The players discovered two parts of a map. The first part was a crudely drawn map, with several landmarks pointed out, but none labelled. They tried for weeks to figure it out, and only just discovered where on the continent the map pertains directly to.

Last session, they finally gathered another clue to the map (part 2) but they do not know that it goes with the first part yet. The second part is in complete cypher, with randomly chosen (mostly) Greek symbols. This is the text of it:

It concerns hidden pirate treasure, and my inspiration is from an Edgar Allen Poe story called "The Goldbug". My cypher is similar to the one in the story, but the key is completely different. The method of solving it is in the story itself. :)

(If anyone solves this, please post it here!) ;)

  2. You are too clever for me. My brother the mathematician might take a crack at it.

  3. Same cypher, easy (well, easier) version:
