Fantastic Gygax photo from 1985 posted to the Gary Con FB group by Gabriel Meister. I don't think I've seen this one before. Apparently from a newspaper, I'm waiting for more info from Gabriel. Love the MMII on the desk; "I just wrote the MMII, what have you done lately?"
Scott Mob always likes a good Gygax photo.
Awesome!
ReplyDeleteHell yeah I do!
ReplyDeleteZach H great photo. You should change your settings where people can download the pictures you post
ReplyDeleteAnd he had a gavel on his desk. Interesting...
ReplyDeleteCharlie Mason I didn't realize it wasn't downloadable! I just updated a preference in my Settings to allow download; let me know if that works
ReplyDeleteZach H perfect. It worked. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI can't be at Gary Con but I'm printing this out and placing it in my office :)
ReplyDelete...and let's not ignore the judge's gavel. :)
ReplyDelete...and:
ReplyDeleteThe skull mug
Whatever's on that paper beneath the MMII
That little (dragon?) drawing over on the left-hand side of the desk
The framed horse portrait(!)
I wanna Bladerunner this thing...
What's up with the gavel?
ReplyDeleteI just wish he'd written more. His is the best AD&D work. His novels are fantastic sourcebooks. He is gaming in Valhalla now.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like Howard Hessman.
ReplyDeleteHoward Hessman looked like Gygax! ;) I can tell, even from this small resolution that that is a pack of Camel non-filtered cigarettes. I know because I used to smoke 2 packs a day in my Navy days. :/
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know what those little gadgets are on the left side of the desk. I can make out a pair of d6's, and something that may be a miniature catapult or other siege engine, stapler, pencils, errr, a desktop barometer??
