Dinosaurs are cool. I wish more DM's had learned this basic fact (and so are Knights, Sabertooths and Mummys).
Agreed. When in doubt, throw dinosaurs into your adventure. Regardless of genre.
Describing rather than naming monsters outright is also a good principle for referees!
Prehistoric mammals - also cool! More D&D worlds should have prehistoric mammals instead of modern mammals.
I fully support more humongous mummies.
One thing I noticed is the focus on risk avoidance. It's all "get away".
