I'm curious if anyone house-rules the Holmes' restriction on spell books being brought into dungeons and the need for MUs to return to their study to re-memorize spells.
Do you play as-is and just let MUs take advantage the scroll creation rules? Do you have low-level groups venture close to home base so MUs can return daily to refresh spells?
I allow magic-users to re-memorise spells from scrolls (without using up the scroll), but only the same spells as those that were memorised at the beginning of the adventure from their proper big magic books. I included that rule as an option in BLUEHOLME™.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very elegant solution, thanks Zach H and Michael Thomas. I like the idea, too of a vellum book of scrolls as a sort of traveling spellbook.
