I don't want to be too much of a naysayer but the last announcement dates from 2010 and I don't think we've ever seen any products? I might be wrong of course...
Peter Fröhlich Allan can answer better but in a comment on his G+ page I saw he wrote "The web site works, but the CMS behind it is no longer supported and mostly-kaput. Once we're over the hump of the con season, Tony, then we'll start working on web site redesign."
Just want to chime in, re: availability is 100%. I saw the printer's proof for BC at Gaycon VI and Allan and Jon have been working closely with me to get the remaining oop Pied Piper tiles back into print. They also have the printer spreads for Cairn of the Skeleton King and Tower of Blood; plus we are negotiating over City of Brass (my original manuscript version). That said, both Jon and Allan work in steady and relentless professions and have families with kids, etc., so they find time to get these projects out to the public when they can.
Wayne Rossi Those are problematical due to the large non-fiction book I am currently writing and at least 1 if not 2 follow-up books related to it. I have informed BBP that I will attempt to squeeze in design work if I find a lull (i.e., get winded by all of the research/writing of said books). So far, no lulls (@120,000+ words and growing).
Rob Kuntz, thanks for the update. This is the book you mentioned in your interview on Grognard Games, with your ideas on game design and so forth, right?
(Yes) and (sorta). Ideas are personal. This comes from a designer's perspective. So the work distills what was then to what is now. It fills in large gaps in the history of the game, design theory related to the formative years, and details the Open Form Concept that Arneson, Gygax and myself wielded as a granular design and play tool. All of the above is very general, however. The book is a research project of mine for the last 7 years and a distillation of thought spanning 40+ years as a designer and as the last of the "three" standing. The book has been divided into three Parts due to the immense weights and ranges of the material.
This is awesome. I've played in Bottle City run by Allan and I assure you it is a fantastic adventure, I will be picking up the new edition as well.

ReplyDeleteRob Kuntz that's awesome to hear! Has there been progress on the other Lake Geneva levels described on the Black Blade website?
