Here's an interesting eBay auction (http://www.ebay.com/itm/121814957049) of D&D/AD&D modules still on their hangcards. Pretty rare these days as the hangers were always discarded after opening.

Dungeons & Dragons Expert Module X5 - Temple of Death - and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Module L2 - The Assassin's Knot - which still has the Toys R Us sticker for $3.97 I believe.

A nice blast from the past. Really takes me back. I remember seeing these in the store.

  1. I don't remember ever seeing modules on hang cards. I remember them shrinkwrapped, with a sticker price tag.

  2. Huh, never saw modules hung like that either. Cool little piece of history.

  3. I do remember buying some Marvel Star Wars comics sold like this back in the same era. I don't recall seeing D&D modules like this in the wild but I was lucky to have a bookstore with a well-stocked RPG section as a kid (RIP, J. Weston Books).

  4. I wonder if only a particular store chain ever ordered modules or even other D&D products that came on hangers. I've never seen modules on hangers in any store I've been in, especially during the 80's.
