Now that's just silly
I can see some fun uses. Rolled after critical hits/fumbles - tells you which die to roll for damage to your opponent/self
Roll for class: d4=MU, d6=Thief, d8=Cleric, d10=Fighter, d12=Barbarian/Ranger/etc, d20=Other (Roll on a d20 table, perhaps?)
If you don't like dice just because they're silly, we may not have very much in common. :)
I wasn't judging, just saying it's silly. Polyhedra dice? Its a self-contained gag.
A good way to randomly generate Savage Worlds monsters & characters. Of course SW doesn't use d20s, but that's an easy fix. On an attribute it's a d12+(1d4), on a skill it's no skill (d4-2). Suddenly Savage Worlds got a little more old-school.
this is perfect for Carcosa as you have to randomly generate hit-dice and damage(for each hit) for each encounter.
