Quick question for the rules experts, is a heavy crossbow fired once every 3 rounds or 4? The reason I ask is it says light crossbows are like heavy weapons and fire basically once every 2 rounds but that heavy crossbows take twice as long to load and fire. Any thoughts?
That is a bit ambiguous, isn't it? I have always ruled that it takes twice as long to load, i.e. a light crossbow takes one full round to load and a heavy crossbow takes two rounds. Then it fires in the next round, so once every 2 rounds for a LCB and once ever 3 rounds for an HCB.
ReplyDeleteThe other reading is equally valid, though.
Thanks Michael Thomas I will probably go with that and I did poke around at chainmail and od&d for further insight but didn't find any "smoking guns" (crossbows in this case hah)

Every one should just give the dagger 1 D4 for damage and all is well, right?
