A handout I made for my In Search of the Brazen Head of Zenopus convention game --- a Player Map for the Zenopus Dungeon. It uses J. Eric Holmes' original drawing for the dungeon, but with the key removed. Use with the original or any sequel. #brazenheadofzenopus

  1. Zach H I should show you my " Return to the Cellars of Zenopus'" (wk.title), manuscript (which has been shelved temporarily for other projects).

It's a stab at a " some years later", re-setting; a sequel and homage that uses and expands the old map, and explores some of the hints and clues from the original text by J.E.H. regarding "what else is down there", and why the dungeon might have been constructed in the first place.

There's been back-room talk of possibly OGL-ing it for "original basic" via the DM's Guild, and maybe later doing a 5e companion/ conversion piece, after the appropriate WotC solicitations, appeals, pitches and queries have gone through.

The hope is that the latter can be done via a 3pp but probably not (wotc!), and It's really just in the draft/outline and developer-discussion (pipe-dream) phase right now anyway, at least until spring.

We should consider pooling mental & creative resources after the new year, you would make the perfect collaborator/ consultant/ co-writer/ editor/ project lead, for something like this.

Besides, I would feel weird attempting anything "Zenopus" without you at least in-the-know, or partially involved ;-).

Sadly, it would be Feb. or Mar. before I would be able to crack-open that file again (based on current deadlines), so there would be time a-plenty, to ponder any interest, willingness or availability.

Just some food for future thought.
    Regards,
    - Robert

  2. Robert Fairbanks Sorry for the delay, but I was busy after I posted this and didn't get a chance to respond at the time, and then it fell off my radar. Please email me at zenopusarchives at gmail dot com if you'd like to discuss further in the future (Feb/March is fine).
