Holmesiana from this year's Gary Con program:
*Holmes is listed on page 5 among the "Pioneers Who Have Passed"
*Page 7 has a quote from Gary's Preface to Holmes Basic, along with a thumbnail of the Basic Rulebook cover, Lizard Logo
*Pat Kilbane ("Bizarro Kramer" on Seinfeld"), one of the guests of honor, started with Holmes Basic in 1979.
*Page 44 notes that this year is the 40th anniversary of B1 In Search of the Unknown, and the Legends Tournament on Friday night is a sequel to this by Mike Carr and Paul Stormberg (I'm signed up for this!)

ReplyDelete~brain explodes~
Sounds like historic fun.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time guys. Drink a spotted cow for me
ReplyDeleteThanks Thom! I wasn't sure if I was going, but it looks like I am. I will certainly drink the Spotted Cow for you. : )
ReplyDeleteAnother spot: Page 52 is a full-page ad for Tales of Peril. The same one I posted here the other day. Unfortunately, Tales is spelled "Tails". I've alerted Allan and Jon.
ReplyDeleteYou gotta watch out for those tails, especially if you're riding a giant lizard.
ReplyDeleteChris Holmes, you're saying they can be perilous, eh?
ReplyDeleteI turned my notes above into a blog post: zenopusarchives.blogspot.com - Gary Con XI

Would Pat Kilbane be interested in talking to me about Dad and Gary Gygax? He sounds cool.
ReplyDeleteI haven't met him before. Not sure how to get in touch with him. If I meet him there, I'll ask!
ReplyDeleteThanks, have a great con
