Tom Wham advertisement in Dragon #9

A rare "dungeon" by Tom Wham, from an advertisement in Dragon #9, July 1977 - the same month Holmes Basic was first sold at Origins 77. The ad doesn't mention the Basic Set but does mention the Monster & Treasure Assortment and the Polyhedra and Percentile Dice Sets.

  1. TSR's little-known murder mystery game "Suspicion" was on sale for only $9.95 for July (no mail orders)

  2. Thanks! Some nice pics there. I've seen Suspicion on product lists from the era, but have never an actual copy before. It uses the same type of pawns as Warlocks & Warriors from the same year.

  3. I was wondering what those funky pawns were all about.

  4. Aha! I wonder if the cover of "Suspicion" was the inspiration for those funky D&D magazine ads or if the funky D&D ads were the inspiration for the cover of "Suspicion."

  5. I don't know. I was the one who posted the funky D&D ads in relation to the Suspicion box cover on RPG Geek.
