ReplyDeleteHere's something interesting: Near the end Gygax mentions that interest in LA in the 1979 LA Times article (which included a pic of Holmes and quotes from him) spurred interest in D&D movies. This interest would eventually lead to Gygax's residency in LA and the D&D cartoon.

ReplyDeleteThe article confusingly refers to Gary's wife (Mary Jo Powell) as Jo Powell and Mary, making it appear that he has two wives. Gary and Mary don't get separated until three years after this article was published.
