I recognized the Cyclops figure in the article I just posted. It must have been designed based on Fangorn's artwork in the UK version of the Holmes Basic rulebook. Take a look at this comparison:
Russ Nicholson also did a very similar illustration of that style of Cyclops, in White Dwarf #21 (it's also in The Best of White Dwarf Scenarios Volume II). Though I'm pretty sure Nicholson's illustration was done after Fangorn's, and certainly after the release of the Fiend Factory Cyclops miniature, which was listed in an advertisement as early as WD #14.

ReplyDeleteThe Cyclops Figure is by Citadel, from their Fiend Factory line, figure number FF14-1. Better photos can be found in various on-line archives.
