    Interestingly, Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote a story about the Great Stone Face in 1850; could make for some fun backstory to an adventure there starting in a nearby village: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Stone_Face_%28Hawthorne%29
